A weird thing happened to me today...

Today was a hot summer day with temperatures reaching upto 38 degree Celsius... I was traveling back home by bus after work. The bus was pretty crowded, thanks to the air conditioner, it wasn't all that hot inside the bus. I was already pretty tired from work and I got a seat to sit after about half way through the journey.

There was a lady standing by my side along with a kid aged around 7-8 yrs., probably her son. I offered the seat, but she refused and instead asked me if the kid could sit with me... I agreed.

After a while, the lady went ahead to get off the bus at her stop. I was pretty sure it was the same lady but still a bit confused as to if that was the same lady with the kid. I quickly approached her and asked why she was abandoning the kid? She replied with a question... "Which kid are you talking about?". I was shocked and scared at the same time. Then I thought maybe this was a different lady. So, in a high pitch, I asked "Who was responsible for the kid?" so that everyone around could hear.
Meanwhile the bus driver stopped at the bus stop and turned back to ask what the commotion was about. So, I briefly explained him what had happened so far. I was experiencing a mixed feeling of confusion, shock and embarrassment!!! But still neither the lady i spoke to nor any other women in the bus claimed that they were responsible for the kid.

Instead of sorting out the problem, the lady got off the bus without anyone saying anything about the situation. Then someone shook me by my shoulder, I turned around to realize that I just woke up from my sleep and I was at the last stop. In fact, it was the driver who woke me up. That instant I realized that I had been dreaming about all this. I was happy to know that every thing was fine.

I smiled at the driver, thanked him and got off the bus. Luckily that was the right bus stop and I walked home.
